Stay Cool and Protected from the Sun

Stay Cool and Burn free:
I have had many clients that lost time on their vacation due to serious sun burn encountered while on the boat or at the pool.  It is very important to protect yourself from the harmful UV rays of the Sun while on your trip. In the Keys the reflection from the water and the bright white decks of our fishing boats magnifies the ultraviolet rays on your skin.  Don’t ruin your trip by forgetting to protect yourself from the sun. Here are a few important steps to take when spending time on a boat in the hot sun:

1. Apply your sunscreen before you leave for the day, I apply mine right after I brush my teeth so that I do not get caught up in the day and forget to apply.  Re-apply throughout the day, I prefer a 30 or 50 SPF.

2. Wear UV protected sun shirts, I love the shirts from Scales Gear, they are lightweight, cool and offer the ultimate sun protection.

3. Scales Face Wraps are a great idea to keep the sun off of your neck, face and ears.

4. Wear a hat.

5. Wear a great pair of polarized sunglasses- I don’t leave home without a pair of Costa Del Mar glasses.
Be careful out there and protect yourself from the sun.
