S11:E12 - “Dolphin Show” (2019) - Capt Steve Rodger and Capt Scott Walker find the treasure of Mahi in the Florida Keys.
On this day our plan was to do at least one day swordfishing, and on this day we decided it was the time to head out for some swordfish. We ended up making some rough decisions and the conditions were different than we expected, it was far colder than we had prepared for. The wind was southeast at about 18 miles per hour and the current was east. Every condition that we had seen the days before were nonexistent on this day. We happened to have two packs of ballyhoo and noticed the dolphin out there. We had 4 rods ready to go and set out dragging some ballyhoo just to see what might swim along.
We didn’t go out there to go dolphin fishing - but to catch a dolphin with a ballyhoo, you don’t have to get up in the dark and rig em and break their back. You just have to have them. We had loaded up with the ballyhoo and the dolphins just came. Its like having to drink a cocktail if someone hands it to you. If the fish just come to you, you have to go for it.
