S11:E9 - “Bottom Fishing KW Mutton Snappers” (2019) - Capt. Steve Roger and Capt. Scott Walker head west of Key West to fish for giant Mutton Snapper.
What Scott and I do whenever he comes down is we film a TV show but we also go grocery shopping. We both love eating fish. We went Yellowtailing and it is one of the best eating fish in Key West. I prefer to catch the Yellowtail with live bait, its very visual and its really fun to see the bite.
We headed out and everything looked perfect, the weather, the water, and the current was going in the right direction. We began to hit it right and prepared to hammer them. But it turned out that it got sharky out there. The Yellowtail wouldn’t even come up because of the sharks and there were actually some little sharks that would eat the yellowtail bait. The sharks got so bad that some bigger sharks came in and started eating the other sharks. It was the first time on the reef that I reeled in a shark that was missing over half its body. Have you ever seen that before? It was absolutely crazy.
